The report was based on an experimental survey condu

cted by the China Consumer Association from December to March, which included mor

e than 1,700 students from elementary, junior high and senior high school.

According to the report, most elementary school students were first exposed t

o the internet in third grade, and these 9-year-old students accounted for 32.2 percent of th

e total. For junior high school students, most had their first online experience at the age of 12 years in grade six, a

nd these students comprised 21.7 percent. Among high school students, the peak period to access the internet fell duri

ng their first year in junior high school, with these 13-year-olds representing 19.4 percent.

The report shows over 90 percent of teenagers use electronic devices for study or playing game

s every week. What deserves attention is that the percentage of inevitable exposure to electronic devi

ces among elementary school students is significantly higher than that of the other two groups.

Since women have “internalized the thin ideal” from soci

ial media, they develop a negative relationship with their bodies. This often leads th

em to engage in “fat talk”-resulting in much lower self-esteem, Shen added.

Ye, from Hangzhou, who works as an accountant for Silergy Corp, said more than 90 percent of her colleagues in the finance

department are women, ranging in age from the early 20s to late 40s. Some have families, while others are singl

e or just “jump into” romantic relations. But all of them have varying degrees of dissatisfaction with their body shape.

“Every woman in our office is unhappy with at least one part of her b

ody. One of them might say her face is too round, while others are unhappy with their arms when

we sit together and gossip,” said Ye, who weighs 48 kg but frowns as she looks at the shape of her thighs.

“I have often thought I would be more attractive if my thighs were thinner,” she said, a

dding that one of her colleagues had not eaten dinner for at least two years in order to stay slim.

Premier Li Keqiang urged government departments to speed up the implementation

of tax reductions to invigorate the country’s economy, amid rising uncertainties about growth on Friday.

Li was speaking with entrepreneurs from the manufacturi

ng, construction and service sectors at the Zhongnanhai leadership compound in Beijing.

The businesspeople said they have received benefits from the tax reduction measu

res in the past months, after the measures were introduced by Li in the Government Work Report in March. They

also offered advice on how to further ease the tax burden on businesses.

After hearing their opinions, Li called tax reduction a great decision made by the Communist Party of China Central Comm

ittee and the State Council. It has boosted market confidence in outstanding ways and promoted the stable

growth of the economy, he said, adding that the positive factors for economic growth are increasing.

This is a predicament for soy growers,” American

American Soybean Association President Davie Stephens said on Tuesday.

President Donald Trump threatened in a tweet on Sunday to increase tariffs.

Stephens, a grower from Clinton, Kentucky, said that US farmers are in a tough situation, and with depressed prices

and unsold stocks forecast to double before the 2019 harvest begins in September, farmers urgently need the China market.

“We need a positive resolution of this ongoing tariff dispute, not further escalation of tensions,” he said in a release posted on the ASA web site.

Nicole Kaeding, vice-president of federal and special projects at the Washington-based Tax Foun

dation, said that if the Trump administration follows through on the president’s threat, it’s US taxp

ayers, not Chinese taxpayers, who will pay the price — thanks to higher prices and fewer job opportunities.

Financial sector restructuring is also a part of the ongo

oing supply-side structural reform, as it is still dominated by the 268-trillion-yuan banking system, the analysts said.

The restructuring process will accelerate as more foreign capital

moves in, which can boost competition in the domestic market, the analysts added.

In the medium term, continued financial reform and more opening-up measures co

uld boost capital inflows, said Lillian Li, a vice-president at rating agency Moody’s.

But trade disputes between China and the United States and uncertainty over monetary policy in global markets may dam

pen capital inflows, and the pace of capital inflow is likely to fluctuate in the near term, she said.

Having the world’s second-largest equity market and the third-largest bond market, China will likely usher in more inte

rnational capital flows in the longer term, if the nation further liberalizes its financial system, she added.

when the country is set to reach a mature stage in

its urbanization process. Lastly, it plans to have development of urban and rural areas fully integrated by the middle of the century.

Under the plan, China will relax restrictions on new migrants to urban areas, excluding some mega cities.

hen Liuqin, founder and director-general of Beijing-based Qin Dian Think Tank, said the stimulus policy d

emonstrates the government’s commitment to pursue a balanced and integrated development of rural and urban areas.

“The integration of rural and urban areas is not meant to eliminate differences between them, but r

ather to optimize allocation of resources and boost common development,” Chen added. “We sho

uld abandon the fixed mindset and consider both rural and urban areas as a unified ecosystem.”

According to Chen, with the high-quality development strategy and more integration, there is huge market potential in many cities.

Specifically, the government will increase spending on rural infrastructure, including roads, ferries and public tran

sport. And it will encourage public-private partnerships in rural infrastructure such as water supply, waste

management and sewage treatment, farmers markets, power supply, telecommunications and logistics.
